AIMS, OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The universal theatre club is a youth-led “edutainment” group.
Our aims and visions are geared towards eliminating bad social habits among the youth of today
and in society.
Specifically, our brothers, sisters and friends in the first and second cycle institution are
our main targets.
Our own research have proved that peer pressure, desire for fashion lack of parental love, broken
homes, passion for money, etc. are some of the main causes of disobedience, disrespect,
insubordination, truancy, child abuse and most importantly prostitution and drug abuse and addiction, leading to teenage pregnancies
among the youth who are our future leaders. Furthermore, it has also been proved that advice given by peer on issues such
as mentioned above are more cause effective than elderly advice which has now been termed by the target group as “colo-stuff”.
Also, today’s youth have accepted modern ways of entertainment in good faith so much that
it is leading them astray from the objectives for which it has been initiated. All the above mentioned points, coupled with
the increasing number of HIV/AIDS cases among the youth have made it a necessity for the Universal Theatre Club to focus its
attention on measures of extracting, eliminating, reconstructing and restoring its members and other friends, brothers and
sisters in the educational institutions.
